Chromebooks will be distributed to new students to Memorial before school begins. They will receive a Chromebook and charger to take home for the school year.  Students will be expected to bring a charged Chromebook to school every day.

Parking permits for seniors/juniors:   Will be available for sale once we know when students will return to school.  (More information to come on this later.)

To be eligible to purchase a parking permit, students must have and be able to produce a valid driver’s license and provide information regarding the car, including make/model and license plate number.  Permits will NOT be sold to students who do not have a valid driver’s license.

The FEE for parking permits will be $20 per semester.  Only one permit will be sold per family. Because the demand for parking at Memorial is significant, parking regulations will be strictly enforced at all times.  Parking tickets are issued for rule infractions.  Once given, tickets cannot be revoked.

To encourage all students to participate in all school activities, regardless of the family’s financial situation, it is the policy of the Board of Education to waive the payment of part or all of student fees if the student or the student’s parent/guardian demonstrates an inability to pay such fees, with the exception of the optional fees listed above.  The fee waiver request is included in the online enrollment process under the socioeconomic status section (SES)

The ability to pay a fee will be determined by the considering factors that include, but are not limited to, student eligibility for Free and Reduced Lunch or AFDC.

NURSE:    Immunization Information.  Our nurses will return to work on August 25 and questions can be directed to:  Gretchen Forbes at or Marie Dietrich

PICTURE INFORMATION:  ID pictures will be printed using last year’s photos and will be distributed to students when school resumes in person.  Students that don’t have a Memorial High School ID will be able to have that done at the school once school resumes.  Lifetouch will schedule a picture taking session for all students once we have information as to when school will resume in person.  (Please disregard the informational packet you received in the mail for August 17.  This session has been postponed until further notice.)

ALL INCOMING FRESHMEN AND NEW STUDENTS will become part of a Neighborhood as they enter Memorial, with other students across grades 9 through 12.  Assistant Principals and Student Services staff are assigned to Neighborhoods, not grade levels.  These individuals will be with you and your family for all of your years at Memorial.

ALL STUDENTS NEW TO MEMORIAL IN GRADES 10-12 will meet virtually with Assistant Principal Ben Radloff.  New students will receive an email from Mr. Radloff for the time of this meeting at a later date.

ENROLLMENT Q&A:  Frequent questions around online enrollment and fees

Below is information for all students interested in participating in WIAA interscholastic athletics at Memorial High School during fall, winter, or spring seasons.  We look forward to having another successful year with our student athletes.  Please make sure to complete all requirements prior to the season to insure full participation opportunities.  We do have a few sports that have limited spots so it is important that student-athletes are prepared to start on the first day and do not miss time in-season.

1.   The Spartan Sports Kick-off meeting is available virtually on YouTube at At this we will go through the required forms for participating in the 2020-21 school year and coaches will provide sport specific information.  The meeting will cover the Athletic Code as well as student-athlete and parent responsibilities to the Code, school, and team.  All Memorial students who wish to participate in a WIAA sport during the 2020-21 school year must view with a parent.  Additional information on current status also available here

2.   Everyone who participates in interscholastic athletics, cheerleading, or pom pon must have a physical examination the first year out and then on alternating years thereafter.  This examination must be attested to with the signature of a licensed physician or nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant on the green WIAA physical examination card.  Physicals should be obtained as soon as possible, BUT MAY NOT BE TAKEN BEFORE APRIL 1 for any upcoming school year.  The reverse side of the green physical card is the parental permission form, which must be signed by parents to allow athletic participation for their children.

In alternate years a yellow card is all that is required.  There is a WIAA extension for those unable to get a current physical due to Covid-19.

As has been indicated above, all cards require more than one signature and cannot be accepted with less than the required number.  You must also indicate the county and state in which you were born—very important for eligibility.

Properly completed cards should be turned in to your coach or scanned and emailed to    Marlena Dow,

3.   It is also required that you remit an athletic participation fee for EACH sport, which is paid after final rosters have been determined and before the first date of competition.  As of this printing, fees will be $115 for all sports with the following surcharges:  Golf - $118.00; Gymnastics - $100.00; Wrestling - $100.00; and Hockey - $800.00.  There is a family cap of $500.00 not including surcharges. Fees are being reviewed with potential changes to season and delivery this year and you are encouraged to pay through Infinite Campus once determined for accuracy.

4.   Spartan Spirit wear is available for purchase and delivery to your home at

Eligibility forms:

All required forms for athletic participation are now available on the web.  You can access the site at or through the link on JMM’s website in the Athletics section.  Parents and students will both login using their Infinite Campus User Name and password.  There is a separate process for both students and parents.  Please make sure that both are complete.  You may complete all this time for all anticipated sports throughout the school year. This step must be completed prior to reporting for practice.

You can sign up for schedule notifications at which will allow you to have up to the minute information on schedules, postponements, and cancellations and will send alerts via email or text.  On twitter, athletics information is shared via @SpartanJMM

The Spartan Sports Kick-off meeting was Wednesday, July 29th, 6:30-8:00pm virtually and is available on YouTube at It included a meeting for families that have interest in playing sports beyond high school to better understand the process of college athletics at all levels. At this time we will go through the required forms for participating in the 2020-21 school year and changes related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
