School Event Attendance
With our return to full-time in-person schooling, we will also be resuming the use of our No Admit procedures to sporting events and other after school events. More information is available here. Starting the week of October 4, Memorial students that have 4 or more tardies and/or 1 or more unexcused absences during the preceding week (i.e, the week of 9/27/21) will be placed on our No Admit List. Students on this list will NOT be admitted to school events, including sports events (as spectators) or dances (as applicable) for the upcoming week.
Safety and Security
We want our schools to be safe and welcoming learning environments. Building security, incident response and threat assessments are vital components as well. We will be reviewing our Standard Response Protocol in classrooms starting the week of September 27th with our students. Please review the letters below for more information:
Back to School Night
Our all-virtual Memorial HS Back to School Night will be held on Monday, September 27 from 6:30pm-8:10pm. Experience your child’s Memorial class schedule and learn about key aspects of the Memorial experience. More details can be found here. Zoom links will be sent on or around Friday, September 24 and can also be accessed through your student’s google classrooms for each course on the 27th.
We know Homecoming is an important part of our Fall celebrations at Memorial. We are in the process of working with the district central office leaders to determine what types of activities we can have as part of our Homecoming this year. We will be in contact as soon as we have more details.
FREE Madison College courses for MMSD Students
Please read this important information regarding opportunities for 11th and 12th grade students to take a wide variety of courses for college credit. A virtual information session is scheduled for Monday, September 20th from 7:00-7:30 p.m.

AP Exam Registration
Registration for the May 2022 exams is now open through October 24, 2021. Please visit the following website for all the information you need to complete registration.
The PSAT will take place at Memorial on Saturday, October 16th. Registration will begin Wednesday, September 22nd, and close on October 6th. Stop by Student Services before or after school to register with $25 cash or check payable to Memorial High School. Fee waivers are available to those who qualify. Please see your counselor with questions.
If you need to report an absence, a parent/ guardian should contact their neighborhood office and/or complete the district’s online excused absence form. You may also send a signed note with the student to take to their Neighborhood Office. School Options if Sick or Quarantined
Students who need to miss school due to COVID infection or COVID quarantine can access their course’s google classrooms as needed/ appropriate. We also encourage students to seek assistance from their Neighborhood Student Services staff, ESL staff, and/or case managers.
Fall Speed & Strength
Fall Speed & Strength is now underway and meets afterschool in the lower weight room. We will meet Tues, Wed, Thurs throughout the Fall. Any athletes preparing for Winter sports or students who would like to workout are welcome. See Coach Slempkes or Coach Frontier with questions.
COVID Notification Process
We are providing you with information as to the processes we will follow at Memorial if a student or staff member is diagnosed with COVID and the steps we will take to notify direct contacts at school, as well as our larger school community.
