A college representative from Hamline University will be here today at 9:00 followed by Lakeland University at 10:00, Case Western Reserve University at 1:00 and Emory University at 2:00.  Thursday college lineup is DePaul University, Loyola University Chicago and Bemidji State University and UW Madison will be represented on Friday.

The U.S. 9 History classes are hosting a design cover contest!  The designs should reflect the diversity of America, include the title ‘American Stories Project’ and be no larger than 8 ½ by 11.  Bring your design to any U.S. 9 History teacher by Friday, October 11th.  Prizes will be awarded for first and second place!

All boys interested in playing basketball this season, who are not in a fall sport, should attend a meeting today in the Fox Neighborhood Center at the beginning of lunch.  Preseason conditioning and open gym schedules will be discussed.  See Coach Slempkes if you have further questions.

The JMM Ski and Snowboard Team will host an informational meeting Thursday during flex time in Room 758.

A mandatory meeting for all girls interested in playing soccer this spring will be held next Monday at 2:40 in Room 861.  See Coach Patton if you have questions.

The JMM Book Club will have its first meeting on Thursday after school in the back of the Library.  They will discuss what you want to read this year and choose the first book.  All are welcome.

The Mock Trial Club informational meeting will be held next Wednesday after school in Room 853.  All new members must attend; all others interested in joining Mock Trial should also attend.  See Ms. Burda in Room 853 for more information.

Global Scholars, a club promoting cultural appreciation will meet in Room 601 at lunch on Friday.  Information about the Global Education Achievement Certificate will also be available.

The Art Department is proud to open it’s first show of the year.  Stop and visit the art gallery to see photography of a JMM trip to Europe.

The Doctor is in.  Beginning Monday Dr. Esmeralda is kicking off her food drive campaign ‘Operation End Hunger’ supported by the Super Hero Club and Spartan Awareness.  Nonperishable items will be accepted in the ‘operating’ suite located in the Main Office from October 14th through November 15th.  There are two big barrels to fill, show your support to end hunger.
