Badger Boys State will be held June 8th through June 15th in Ripon and Badger Girls State will be held June 16th through June 21st in Oshkosh. This is a government and leadership conference designed to educate on the functions of government and to develop leadership skills. This activity is open to Juniors only. If you would like to learn more visit the Boys website, www.badgerboysstate.com or the Girls website, www.badgergirlsstate.org. Memorial staff will be nominating juniors they feel are good candidates this week. If you would like to nominate yourself to represent Memorial High School stop by Mr. Hendrickson’s office to complete a nomination form no later than February 8th. Only two girls and two boys will be selected to represent Memorial.
A second semester reminder to all juniors and seniors! If you would like to sign out of a study hall first, fourth, fifth or seventh hour be sure to complete the release form. Forms are available in all the neighborhood offices.
Save the date! The Midwinter Formal Dance, ‘Glow in the Dark’, will be held on Saturday, February 9th from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. in the Main Gym. Note this is a time change from previous dances. Tickets will be sold today through Thursday during lunch in the Cafeteria; cost per ticket is $5.00. Reminders!! If you want to bring a guest that is not a Memorial student a guest permission form is required; forms are available in all of the neighborhood offices and must be returned to the Wisconsin Office by Wednesday. As always, you MUST have a student ID to enter the dance.
If you would like a summer job working with elementary aged children, MSCR is hiring. Applications for the Leaders in Training program are available in the Welcome Center and Student Service. Applications are due this Thursday.
All girls interested in joining the 2019 Girls Track and Field team should attend the final informational meeting on Wednesday in the Fox Study Center at the beginning of lunch. If you have questions see Coach Slempkes or Coach Frontier.
This is the final notification to all seniors to obtain a ‘correct’ diploma! If your name appears on the list outside the Wisconsin Office see Ms. Rachel immediately to verify your name is correct for your diploma.
If you are looking for something unique to give to your sweetheart, friend, or JMM staff member for Valentine’s Day, singing Valentines will be sold in the cafeteria during lunch from Wednesday until next Monday. There are a variety of songs to choose from. All proceeds will benefit Memorial’s vocal department. Singing Valentines are $5.00 and you can have a rose delivered with your song for an additional $3.00.
The Art Department is proud to open the Student Art Show in the Art Gallery. The show is full of student artwork from all of last semester’s art classes. Come see what they have been making!
