This Friday is the Day of Silence, a day to show support for LGBTQ+ people and to raise awareness around issues of bullying and silencing this community. Please show your support by staying silent on Friday and by picking up an awareness ribbon in the A-wing Foyer before school.
f you are interested in giving back to your community, would like to gain some community service hours, or simply want to volunteer, sign up to help with Memorial’s annual rummage sale this Saturday. Student volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, and Saturday morning to help organize donations and connect with community members at the sale. Please see Ms. Bertrand or Ms. Nadler in Student Service’s for more information.
If you need Driver’s Ed, applications for the MSCR free Driver’s Ed program are in Student Services and the Welcome Center. All forms are due by next Friday, see Ms. Rios with questions.
The MSCR Lit Training has been cancelled for this Friday and will resume again on April 28th.
If you are looking for a fun community service opportunity come join the International Soccer Club and members of the Spartan Girls Soccer Teams as we coach students from Huegel Elementary in the art of playing ‘the beautiful game’ in conjunction with the Millenium Soccer Club of Madison. The first session is this Saturday, 9:00 to 11:00 am at Huegel and will be meet for six consecutive Saturday’s, until May 27th. Be forewarned if you have been parking in the Jefferson Middle School Parking lot; we have been informed this lot will be patrolled every day and tickets will be issued. We also send you a gentle warning that the Memorial parking lot uses the same parking police.
Save the date! Prom will be held on May 6th at the Alliant Energy Center. Tickets for Golden Gala will go on sale May 1st through May 4th; cost per ticket is $25.00. You will have a chance to win two free Prom tickets next week; raffle tickets will be $1.00 and will be sold Tuesday through Thursday in the A-wing Foyer. Spartans Committed is once again hosting Post Prom at Vitense Golfland, which is included in the price of your ticket. Two important reminders – if you want to bring a guest that is not a Memorial student a guest permission form is required; forms are available in all the neighborhood offices. And as always, you MUST have a student ID to enter Prom.
