Any student who would like to run for class officer for the 2017-18 school term must turn in a completed nomination form to the Wisconsin Office by the end of the day on Friday, May 12th. Approved candidates will need to record a one-minute campaign video to be played in Advisory the day of elections on Monday, May 22nd. The Civics Exam is a requirement for graduation. Any student, whatever grade you are in, who has not taken the Civic Exam can do so Thursday at 3:45 pm in Room 851.

Students are invited to a half-day Philosophy Workshop on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin Madison. The workshop will run from 9:00 am to noon and it will take place at the Arts and Literature Laboratory on Winnebago Street. The cost is free, but registration is required. The Latino Dance is Friday from 7:00 to 11:00 pm in the Field House. There will be Latin food, dance lessons, performers and a DJ! Tickets are just $4.00 and will be sold through Friday during lunch in the cafeteria. See you at the fiesta!
The spring play, The Nerd, by Larry Shue is the funniest play JMM has ever performed. Show dates are this Friday and Saturday and again May 18, 19 and 20. The show begins at 7:30 pm and there is no late seating. Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold in the cafeteria during lunch.
Current sophomores and juniors who would like to welcome our incoming Freshmen for 2017-18 school year by leading tours and ice breaks on September 5th are invited to be a part of the ‘Spartan Freshmen Welcome Day.’ Volunteer forms with further details are located in all of the neighborhood offices. Forms must be returned to the Rock office no later than Friday, May 26th. An informational meeting will also be held during on Wednesday, May 17th in the Lit Center. The ‘Spartans For All’ team will host a bake sale before and after school today in the A-Wing Foyer, and Thursday in the Commons.
Congratulations to Elena Santin for receiving two awards for her music compositions entered in the WSMA composition project. Elena was awarded 2nd place in the statewide competition for her piano piece and 3rd place in the instrumental division.

Senior Announcements! The JMM Senior Party is on Saturday, May 27th in the field house from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Tickets are $15.00. If you misplaced your reservation form you can stop by the Wisconsin Office to get another one. Money and reservation cards are due this Friday, May 12th!
Tryouts for graduation speakers will be held on Wednesday, May 17th in the auditorium at 3:20 pm. You must sign up with Ms. Glaaser in Room 803 prior to tryouts.
