Any student who would like to run for class office for the 2018-19 school year must turn in a completed nomination form to the Wisconsin Office by Friday.  Forms are available in all the neighborhood offices.  Elections will be held during English classes on Tuesday, May 22nd.

If you have a knack for writing, staying up to date with school events, sports and news, join Sword & Shield, Memorial’s official newspaper.  Editors are needed for the 2018-19 school year.  Talk with Ms. Ford or find them online at for more information.  Make the ‘write’ decision!  Apply for an editor position today!  Applications are due May 18th.

Don’t miss the spring play, 12 Angry Jurors, by Reginald Rose.  A 19-year old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father, and 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room to deliberate.  It looks like an open and shut case – until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts.  Tickets will be sold starting today during lunch and will also be available at the door on the evenings of the performances.  Cost for a ticket is $5.00 Performances are May 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm. 

JMM’s Latino Festival is Friday from 7:00 to 11:00 pm in the fieldhouse.  Come enjoy Latin food, music and dance to the DJ Rumba!  Tickets are only $4.00 and can be purchased during lunch in the cafeteria today.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

Animal Club is welcoming Reuben, a rescued Thai fighting rooster, to Memorial this week.  Come join them in the Library after school today for some snacks, laughs, and to hang out with a friendly, amazing rooster.  Drop ins are welcome!

On May 23rd the American Heart Association is hosting a new out-of-classroom experience for young women who are currently sophomores and juniors interested in STEM.  This unique day will feature top industry STEM professionals who will be sharing their education and career experiences, hands-on-breakout sessions, and a keynote speaker from Filament Games.  If you are interested please see the flyer outside of the science office or talk to Ms. Wilcox.  The deadline has been extended to May 11th to sign up so you must act fast.
