If you have a knack for writing, staying up to date with school events, sports and news, join Sword & Shield, Memorial’s official newspaper.  Editors are needed for the 2018-19 school year.  Talk with Ms. Ford or find them online at for more information.  Make the ‘write’ decision!  Apply for an editor position today!  Applications are due May 18th.

Don’t miss the spring play, 12 Angry Jurors, by Reginald Rose.  A 19-year old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father, and 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room to deliberate.  It looks like an open and shut case – until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts.  Tickets will be sold during lunch and will also be available at the door on the evenings of the performances.  Cost for a ticket is $5.00 Performances are May 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm. 

On May 23rd the American Heart Association is hosting a new out-of-classroom experience for young women who are currently sophomores and juniors interested in STEM.  This unique day will feature top industry STEM professionals who will be sharing their education and career experiences, hands-on-breakout sessions, and a keynote speaker from Filament Games.  If you are interested please see the flyer outside of the science office or talk to Ms. Wilcox.  The deadline has been extended to today.

Seniors, it’s Senior Picnic time and the date is set for Friday, May 25th.  Permission forms are available in all the neighborhood offices and must be returned to the Wisconsin Office no later than May 23rd.  Remember, if you want to ride the same bus with your friends, return your permissions forms in at the same time.

The Sports Event Management class will be selling raffle tickets to raise money for the Girls Track & Field team.  Tickets will be sold in the school store today during lunch, Monday morning and lunch in the school store, as well as the meet at Mansfield on May 14th.  The winning prize will be 2 $50 Dicks Sporting Goods Gift Cards and the winners will be announced during the meet on the 14th.
