Reach out to teachers and staff if you have specific shout outs or things to share with your classmates and Memorial community.
- Last week was filled with appreciation for principals, teachers, nurses and we can’t thank the Memorial community enough for sticking together and supporting each other especially through these trying times. Thank you, Spartan Family!
- Shout out to Ben Jaeger and JMM Band students for their impressive Zoom rendition of “On, Wisconsin!”
Good luck to all of you taking Advanced Placement exams which start Monday, May 11th and end Friday, May 22nd. There are 3 exams per day starting at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
We continue to put together ways to celebrate seniors and the end of the school year. It was great to connect this past week for care package delivery and cap and gown distribution. The staff wholeheartedly said it was the best part of their week to connect even from a distance.
Our plan for graduation has been evolving quickly. MMSD is partnering with WISC TV so we can create a professionally-produced end product, and our graduation will be broadcast on LIVE television during primetime for everyone in the Madison area to view and celebrate with you. In addition, student photos will be featured in a special issue of Madison Magazine and student graduation photographs will be featured on digital city-wide billboards.
Interested in Speaking at Graduation?
Each year we have students speak at graduation. This is an important part of the ceremony, as the class hears their peers reflect on four years at Memorial, the moment, and the future. Speeches can be no longer than three minutes in length. A video of you delivering your speech should be submitted to Ms. Blackamore at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, May 15 at 4:00 pm. This deadline is final. The speaker selected by the committee will go to WISC TV during the week of May 18 to record their speech for the ceremony.
Student & Parent/Guardian Advisory Groups
Seniors, we are excited that we have been able to meet with our senior advisory group this week. Students and families, please use the forms provided in the senior detail information to become part of these advisory groups.
Great job connecting with virtual learning and each other, stay engaged, stay connected and never hesitate to reach out for help.
